WaveParse is a suite of nine VST3 plugins and over two dozen Nyquist plugins that together permit decoupling the three technical requirements for ACX compliance (peaks, RMS, and floor) so they can be individually corrected using only gain. Snipping precisely at zero crossings guarantees a remix to the final form without splicing artifacts. There are also tools to help find anomalies.

The Locate Floor plugin has been upgraded with the addition of a 'tolerance' parameter, which prevents premature termination of a floor section by simple noise. The image's first extraction shows how a period of breathing (a form of noise, to some) was improperly extracted because the algorithm was 'intolerant' of the rise above the threshold. In the second extraction, providing a tolerance of 6 dB has permitted the entire inhale sound to be extracted as floor. The third extraction shows how different settings of floor threshold and tolerance can move the breath sound out of the floor. Besides tailoring floor characteristics in general, the tool is useful when run with no tolerance, because it can identify repairable noises in the floor period that would otherwise escape detection.

WaveParse is distributed for free. You can request the current install ZIP by emailing info@waveparse.com; your address will be used only to provide updates. Once the feature set is finalized, the plugins and source will be published on GitHub for perpetual access.
