In Waveform 14, the properties panel has been removed in favor of just having the actions panel (even though the properties panel could be manually toggled in previous versions). The properties panel was my favorite UI feature for various reasons (plus having only the actions panel means that plugin parameters and macros and all of the settings for LFOs are only accessible via popups), so I really hope the developers will consider adding it back. If you, too, would like the properties panel back, please vote for option A in the poll to let them know. You can also contact them directly from their Zendesk (which is linked on the Tracktion developer profile) (https://tracktion.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new).

It's gonna take a little adjusting, but I prefer the less-cluttered look. Everything that was previously in the Properties panel is still accessible between the Actions panel and the drop down menus.

I do agree that the features are still there (and I don’t mean to argue—I am not trying to change your option), but it is less organized and more spread out. Item options and settings are in the actions panel, while things like plugin MIDI controller assignments, faceplates, parameters, and macros; all LFO settings; and the MIDI clip pattern generator are broken off into popups.

Unfortunately, Tracktion support just emailed me and said they will not be considering adding the properties panel back. They gave me a statement from the developers saying that it was running out of space and it was unsustainable to maintain both the actions and properties panels. However, they did say that they plan to significantly improve upon the actions panel to make it a more natural part of the workflow.
