Changes in Bitwig Studio 6.1, Beta 4 [released 10 July 2026]
IMPROVEMENTS
In sliced Sampler, all gestures are directly available now based on where you click in the waveform display:
In the top half of the waveform:
The normal pointer cursor is shown.
Double-clicking creates a new manual slice.
Slice handles are used for moving slices (by dragging) or deleting them (by double-clicking). When hovering these handles, a left–right move cursor (↔︎) is shown.
In the bottom half of the waveform:
The magnifying glass icon is shown.
Dragging up and down will zoom the waveform in and out.
Dragging left and right will pan/scroll the waveform.
Double-clicking will toggle between 1) zooming-to-fit the relevant parts of the waveform, and 2) zooming to show the entire sample.
These are the sample interactions available in both single Sampler editing and in zone editing of a multisample Sampler.
When in mapping mode for the P₁, P₂, or P₃ modulator sources:
Clicking anywhere on the waveform will adjust each slice's modulation value.
Dragging across the waveform will adjust the value for each slice.
Holding [ALT] will show the magnifying glass icon and offer all zoom & pan gestures.
Sampler waveform editing: When using an active snapping mode (Snap to onsets or Snap to zero crossings), holding [SHIFT] will now disable snapping for the current interaction.
Improved Automatic BPM Detection in Sampler
Sampler waveform editing: The loop region can now be moved without changing its length.
When you have a defined loop region (in single or multisample modes), you can now [ALT]-drag the loop region to move it as a whole.
The length with be preserved, and if necessary, the crossfade will be adjusted.
You can still drag the various handles — Loop Start, Loop End, and Crossfade Length — to adjust those individual parameters directly.
Sampler device and Grid module: Spectral > Reharm mode can now set its key locally.
When in the Reharm character of Spectral mode, there are still three Harmonic Quantization Mode options:
Off, where harmonics are not corrected
to Octaves, which shifts each harmonic toward the nearest octave
to Key, which shifts each harmonic toward the nearest in-key step
Additional Inspector parameters determine how the to Key mode works:
When Use Global Key is on (the default), the project's Key Signature (Root Key and Scale) will be used.
When Use Global Key is off, the Local Key and Local Scale/Mode parameters are used.
All three of these parameters can be modulated, and Local Key and Local Scale/Mode are both polyphonic…
FIXES
Sampler device/Grid module fixes:
Sliced Sampler: The looping modes no longer crossfade across slice boundaries [6531]
Clicks are now avoided in certain looping/reverse cases [6531]
Spectral mode > Reharm character no longer freezes the engine in certain configurations [6557]
Cycles mode + slicing no longer pitch tracks, as that was silly [6496]
Grid module no longer applies pitch changes after note on when Keytracking is off [6663]
Bounce and Bounce In Place actions now use the project time signature again (instead of 4/4) [6543]
Fixed some Detail Editor Panel related crashes [6420]
Fixed situations when loading a BWCLIP pointed to old values and couldn't open parts of the editor [6666]
