Looking for a whistle (as in human whistle, not Penny Whistle) sound. Anyone know of a library or free gig/sf2 that might be around?

fraid the oly one i know of is the silver series whistles of old england sample set in giga format,and definitely not free,even second hand your talking 200-300usd

oh I demoed that one. wasn't too excited to be honest, hardly any articulations.
What is rather nice though is VSL Horizon Solo Whistlers. If you have the VSL Pro library, you'll have the whistling ensembles already, and get Solo Whistlers for $169.-. Also the performance samples are rather impressive. The articulation list includes balmed lip slurs, herpes pops and 'oh my god i sucked too much on this bottle my lips got sucked in' noises of when you just open and cloth your mouth (but then with hugely swollen lips).
Thats not SF2 but you can easily enough convert them to sf2 with chickensys translator, which only costs 149.- and has a copy protection scheme you can't even trick with legally purchased keys.
Anyway, good luck finding a mic.
