Does any of you know if Steinberg in Cubase 3 has eliminated the insane midi-problem they had in Cubase 2.
I am talking about famous notes-are-recording-too-early-syndrome which apparently had no clear sollution.

If the prblem is solved i will buy it and be very happy.

:?: :?: :?: :?

I've never had that famous problem with my copy of SX2. In fact, I've never even heard of that famous problem. Or do you mean the emulated midi port thing? Which Steinberg posted one of the easiest fixes you could ever do, without downloading a single thing, and which has been on their website for quite a time now.

Or do you really mean Cubase 2 ...that was released in the early 90s? We're up to SX2 now, you know :hihi:

defintely been gone since sx 2

something to do with midi drivers - ie does your motherboard support mmc or summat - but defintely fixed a long time ago

Take a look here: http://www.jay.fm/miditime/

Lots of interesting information about the issue, and some solutions, including a program to test your midi interface.

Over here dragging out the dreaded "ignoreportfilter" file out of the "midi port enabler" directory, then deactivating all "emulated" ports and using the non emulated ones helped on a number of systems (actually on all I tried with). That is with both SX 2 and 3
There might be further issues with MIDI timestamping, but I never fooled around with it - as said, above mentioned "hack" allways fixed the problem.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

yeah, this is whacked, I love Cubase dearly, but this MIDI timing thing is ridiculous, because it's still in SX 3, and you can tell from the posts on the Cubase forum, where the new folks drop by wondering what's going on... or maybe they're crazy, but it does seem wild that something like this could still exist at this time, I mean, in the world of sequencers and whether it's Steinberg's or Microsoft's fault the fact that you can't get a decently timed track into your sequencer without mucking about with it is crazy... and do the other big sequencer's have this problem? heck, do ANY OTHER sequencers have this problem?

let me repeat, I love and use Cubase SX 2.2 daily along with Reason 2.5, and I don't have any crashes or other weird problems, BUT I did have to use the ignoremidi filter nonsense... and that's just what it is, B.S.

and for those of you who don't know what we're talking about here, Cubase SX has a weird timing problem with some MIDI interfaces, where the notes are placed early, and it's wild, you can open the MIDI editor, and watch as you play, and your notes are placed BEFORE you played them... I mean, they appear that way
