Got my copy of Logic Pro 7 today...this marks a new beginning.

The transition from a PC to a MAC is painless...as a matter of fact, it's been a pleasant experience so far! I would recommand anyone who is thinking of getter a new system to check out a MAC.

I know, I'm comparing Apple"s" to "oranges"! haha....

Logic Pro 7 looks and feels like a great host...AU plug-ins are working flawlessly...and unlike Cubase or Sonar, it comes with "professional" plug-ins right out of the box! Gotta love that "Sculpture" plug-in....

Ta ta for now...back to playing with Logic...

I ordered my dual G5 2GHz and Logic Pro 7 update today (been using 5.5.1 on PC for the last two years) and I am VERY exited to get it! Christmas will come early this year. :D

I'm holding onto my other PC though, don't want to miss out on some truly excellent freeware and shareware plugs like Anarchy Rhythms, Scuzzphut and the EVM synths... :wink:

Cheers,

Why don' you upgrade it to OS X?

If you have some old OS 9 SW or HW you still want to run (like me - Korg OASYS) get yourself an old B&W G3 and stick it in there. And you can upgrade the processor if needed.

I have a 733 that I upgraded to 933 a while ago. Nothing to sing about, CPU wise, but I can get work done on it, no prob....

Or you could set up the 733 as a Logic Node.

iMAC 1.8 G5...1G of ram.

BTW, I thought Adam ate a "fruit" from the tree...might be an apple...not sure. :)

Logic Pro 7 is great...loads much quicker than Cubase SX2...at least to me anyway.

P.S. If I have my way...I should be able to afford the dual G5 2.5 in about a year...and that 30" screen...*HHHMMMM*

Make sure to also get the 'apple care' package. Basically in the morning someone, a grandmom type, comes over and pats you on the head every time you manage to open a program, with the words 'that a boy!'.

<smartass mode on>

Daaaamn, is that true?! And now you tell me, AFTER I passed on that deal? :-o :hihi:

Heck, after all these years on Winblows, I'm happy just to see some different crashes than those I'm already used to. :P

<smartass mode off>

Sorry about that. To prove I'm still a Win-guy (sic), I'll put up this link that is very anti-Mac, yet still amusing (perhaps even for Mac-folks):

I hope this will bring some enjoyment. :wink:

So you are saying the Sonitus plugins that come with Sonar are not "professional"? If so, i would contend that you are oh so very wrong. Must be a bummer that you get no delay compensation with those "pro" plugins in v.7. :P

Aside from that, I'm glad you're happy with your new setup.

Post

:) I'm glad that you guys are happy for me. I guess everyone has their preference.

In reguard to the Sonar comment...I have to appologize...because I have never used Sonar before...so for me to make that comment, just out of character. But...I've been using Cubase for a long time...what kind of plug-ins and effects does it offer? Yes, I know, I'm "paying" for Logic's plug-ins...since there's a price difference between Logic and Cubase.

I still have the option of going back to a PC...still have the whole setup with me. So...if one day I'm tired of using a MAC...BTW, what other options are there?

:D I dont get it..why are you guys always making this fuzz about MAC..PC...PC...MAC..Both Systems have their highs and lows...
I Use both Systems producing music, cause there are a lot of good appz for PC that don't exist for the MAC and also vice versa. Most of my grafic or artwork i do on a mac..DVD production on a PC and 3D Animation on Both..Maya on PC Cinema4D on MAC...
I USe OSX Which i installed once over a year Ago and XP which i installed 4 times in one year... :shock:
