Best Soft Cell album, hands down, is "This Last Night in Sodom".

Not so up on his solo work, esp. recently, but I thought the Marc and the Mambas LPs were great.

Last Night In Sodom, Mamba's and some Willing Sinners tracks.
Also some great collaborations, like the ones with Coil or Annie Hogan.

Yeah I like "This last night in Sodom" - though "Stories of Johnny" was also excellent.

Untitled by Marc and the Mambas is fantastic - I recently had to import this from Canada as it's so hard to get a copy here inthe UK (I had it already but on cassete tape)

One of my favourite solo works is the mini album "Violent Silence" based around several Georges Batialle poems - simply beautiful and highly original.

I also love his album of Jacque Brel songs "jacques" and Mother Fist.

One of the coolest things I own is a Yamaha DX7 that was once gigged by Marc Almond, I'm not much of a fan though so I considered selling it to someone who was.

His solo album 'Enchanted'. Definitely a desert island disc for me, featuring some of the warmest sounding lush pop ever, combined with magnificent lyrics. (Death's Diary, is pure genius)

From his darker side, yeah, 'Mother Fist'. Class record.

Believe me when I tell you that when I play "Tainted Love" at any party that I'm DJ-ing, it still gets a huge pop from the dancefloor.

Marc will be appearing on the forthcoming Current 93 album 'How He Loved the Moon', soon to be released by Beta-Lactam Ring ( http://www.blrrecords.com ).

That should be quite something.

Been listening to Mother Fist again this aft - St Judy is sooo sublime - one of the greatest songs ever (I love all the quotations from other songs too - very clever stuff)

On the downside I got burgled a few months ago and one of the things that got nicked was a compilation tape I made of all his old singles an ex of mine took with her - and it had "I'm sick of you tasting of somebody else" and some other stuff I just can't seem to find anymore (+ "I am 16" anybody seen this gem?)
