I would use Sound Forge, but only 'cause I have it. If I didn't I would use any audio editor.

I'd go with WaveKnife. No idea if the loops on the particular disc are cut so that just looping them as is works... but if that's the case, then you're set. Use whatever app you prefer for ripping them (that is, reading into WAVs), throw WaveKnife at them and marvel automated technology at work :)

Theo, im just diggin into cofx dicer, which extremly powerful on slicing stuff. endless possibilities. try the demo. i think its an overlooked tool and i dont find it complicated at all (after reading the manual). the cool thing is that you can have two versions (a/b) for every slice.

Waveknife is OK, but be aware, it won't cut your loops properly. It might cut the start points fine, but due to it's design it won't cut endpoints properly.

I have that NoKick CD as well, from what I remember (I bought it ages ago it seems) there's no "loop-end-click" on them loops, so almost all automated processes might fail as they relate to transients.

What I'm doing in such cases is the following:
- Load track into Logic.
- Cut manually or use Strip Silence.
- Search for some "important" beats (in case there's no "end-click", beat 4 often works fine).
- Adjust tempo (using "get tempo using object length and locators"), so I can drag the loop to a full bar value.
- Create individual audio files from regions.
- In addition I may copy the loops to ReCycle and slice things up there.

Yeah, I know, quite a timeconsuming thing, but for me that's still the easiest way to get perfectly timed loops in case they got no "end-clicks" (which unfortunately is the case on many sample CDs).
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I rip the tracks to Wavelab and use the autosplit feature.

You can set the threshold it detects at, so have it at a reasonable level, and you can get your loops that way.

It takes some experimentation, but its a lot faster than doing it manually.

use an audio editor
its quite easy to see the diff between silence and a drum loop or beat 8)
you will also feel special when you do it :hihi:
