anything to do or it just doesn't work?

I had ST working in Traction and CMuzys. For some reason it started locking up my system when I picked a patch in either host. I removed ST and put it back. Now it works in Traction ( oh the latency of Traction ) but still shuts the comp down in CMuzys.

St2 Free works fine here on tracktion.

Hi there vtx

Turn off "Realtime Priority Mode" on Tracktions' settings page. :)

Indeed!

FWIW... Tracktion itself does not add latency by mere virtue of being Tracktion... something's gone awry in your setup.

i second that - androidlove there's something wrong with your setup, not tracktion. check the settings, T doesn't add any latency for being T.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I have had no problems with ST2Free in Tracktion...remember to use it as a "rack filter" to take advantange of it's multi outputs.Sorry I can't help.

I do have that turned on,,what exactly does that do anyway?
Theres mention of the setup,,before I dicked with that,I'm not sure what I could change in Traktion other than what you advise,,I loaded Plugsound free in Tracktion and had no problem, fact all of my vsti's work except Sampletank..
I'll try your suggestion now :)

thanx alot tom

"real time priority mode" is *definately* not compatible with all plugins. It's best to leave that turned off.

I was reading another thread saying its best to keep this turned on and just not use the plugs that don't work with it...interesting :?

And which plugs don't work in T ?

I have to admit, I didn't even play with the latency setting. I think I just wanted to dislike Traction. How childish of me. I got latency down to 17 millisecs. I can see the possibilities. I'll work on changing my host. Really, I'll miss CMuzys. I think it was just the skins.

17 ms is still a lot... if you want to try to fix it (ie. if you want to give it a try instead of just disliking it! :D :D) send me a PM. I'm at ~6 ms with a fairly modest (Athlon 2600) machine, and can get it even lower by changing bit depth.

Cool! But alas--the reason it does what it does is not something I understand :hihi: Like you, I heard it here at KvR! I'd love to give credit but I can't remember who brought the answer to my attention (actually, I was just lurking in the Raw Materials forum when someone else asked).

I've learned soooo much good stuff here in the time I've been a member. But the science behind? Ask vally or ModulR :D :D
