FL Studio piano roll cut and paste?

This has to be a stupid question, but I've tried everything I can think of and I cannot figure it out.

If I use the selection tool (the "dashed" square) in the piano roll in FL Studio, I can select a set of midi notes. I can use standard ctrl-c to copy to the clipboard. The notes turn from green to pink. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to then paste to another area. I've tried all the tools in the piano roll, tried moving all the cursors and pointers I can see... What is the simple way to paste what I've cut to the clipboard? (other than having it paste over itself which is what always happens now).

Sorry for the stupid question but I've held this question back for so long and now I just have to know.

Thanks!

Move the piano roll window's horizontal scroll bar across a bit and the notes will appear in the left-most visible bar

Thank you glenn.

That does actually work, but it seems kinda weird. Is that the intended behavior?

What if I want to copy some notes to a later part of the same bar? or maybe I want to copy the notes up a major third??

Thanks,

Hi ... a simpler way is to use the CTRL and SHIFT keys to modify the pencil tool. CTRL-Click and drag to select ... SHIFT-Drag to copy those notes somewhere else. Very fast, very elegant.

stu.macQ perfect, exactly what I needed, thanks.

Ah, excellent little tip, didn't know about the CTRL and SHIFT modifier there... always used E and P to shift between select and pencil, this method seems much more convenient though!
