If you don't have problems right now, don't f**k with it.
If you want to try it, then considering your luck, maybe you should set a restore point before installing a new dll.

Hi ttoz,
1. I had the same problem but with "msvcr71.dll" that also somehow envolved in audio procesing, i replaced it with newer and it works fine.
2. You can copy the old dll version to some other place and in case of truoble to replace.
