Streaming Audio in Firefox

How do I get streaming audio in Firefox 1.0? I just updated Quicktime but it only put a plugin in IE. At the moment I have to download the whole freaking thing before I can hear it which is rarely worth the effort.

install real alternative and qt alternative. then you should be able to use either in firefox..
