Bought this DVD yesterday. It's one of Dave's better live offerings. Amongst other observations ..
1) THAT voice is just getting better and better with time.

2) Man, LOOK at the dude. FIFTY SEVEN years old and still looking as cool as f**k.

Bowie - the ultimate rock icon, bar none.

been a Bowie fan on and off for as long as I can remember now (had a bit of a falling out with 'let's dance'

that 57 and still looking f**king cool has me a bit worried tho

blood transfusions? plastic parts?
was he trying to tell us something with the song 'loving the alien'?

what is his secret??

probably a real chord...bowie can play rhythm guitar. (he did nearly all the guitar work on diamond dogs himself.) imho, when you know how to play, the instinct is to grab a real chord when you hold a guitar neck. now...whether or not he was actually playing at the time the picture was taken is another story...it could well be just a pose. (and a good one, of course.

Oy, there's a bit of an overstatement. No need for a flame war here, but what Bowie is best at is "chameleon". There's a female performer who's been around for a while now who's n the same league, but I won't get you all hot-n-bothered by metioning her name here.... because then it *would* start a flame war.

As far as pure musical talent, there are plenty of folks who have it all over Dave. But, he's a *performer*, and always has been... nothing wrong with that, and I'm not dissing him. I'm just arguing with the opinion that he's "the best alive". Sure, it's an opinion, and we all have one. Good luck with it.

BTW, MelodyMan... is that you, Dave??
