I'm a thief and a slut. Let's just get that out of the way, so I don't have to don my flame proof suit...
(I'll just keep it here to the side just in case. ;) )

I'm just a breakbeat whore. What I mean by that is I love to snag unorthodox breaks (other than the usual James Brown stuff) from my vast collection of tunes.

More damage control: I DO enjoy programming my own breakbeat-style material myself and do it (imho) quite well.

But, I'd love to hear from others on this subject and especially on breaks that no one ever thinks of.

Here's a couple of examples: Several drum breaks can be snagged from the song "Skillet" by Morris Day and The Time (album:Pandemonium)

Another great break can be extracted from "Pound Cake" by Van Halen.

There's a nice break with shakers on "Great White Hope" by Styx. Got it on vynil, fun to use to underpin another more heavy breakbeat.
