Against the backcloth of world events I hope the following does not sound too self indulgent.

My lucky, lucky children enjoyed a very good Christmas yet somehow I decided I had enough plastic money left to go out and splash on a new guitar - a Gibson SG Special no less. Debated with myself and the Finance Department, also known as my better half, whether I could justify the more expensive Standard model, but a modicum of common sense prevailed and I bought the "cheap" one! Ha, ha, man what a guitar!

My long standing love affair with guitars has ebbed and flowed over the years, but has decidedly been on the back burner since I discovered music software and the whole production thing. I bought Computer Music first 4 years ago, and the obsession started. It's been a brilliant experience. I have been able to become a totally self sufficient musician, record all my old songs as fully produced tracks at my own pace without worrying about unreliable fellow band members. Truely, it has been a dream fulfilled.

But now, I believe a turning point is near:

1. 95% of what I need is available in Traction - the remaining 5% will come with version 2.

2.I have grown out of CM - I don't think I need to read it anymore to achieve what I want.

3. I am back where I started - with the old guitar in hand and loving every minute of it!

Semi serious question - I am looking for a decent guitar technique orientated site - can anyone recommend anything half approaching KVR standard in the guitar world?

Good wishes to all KVR contributors in 2005.
