I'm kindly asking Nitro users to post their impressions of it in this thread. If you have the time for a full-fledged KvR review (we only have one to date) or to post a sound example here it would also be most appreciated.

Long story short: I've just moved and my music PC isn't set up so I can't demo Nitro. I'd hate to miss out on a great thing with the group buy going on (I'm already in for VW).

Many Thanks!

I'll start by saying it is much more than just a filter.
More of a Multi FX unit in one very manageable window, capable of plenty FX I can't create using all Logic's plugins (now that's saying something)

Mind you, I might be a bit biased because I'm organizing the Group Buy!

Nitro is great. I have the demo and emailed someone re: the PSP group buy, and never got a response. I really hope the group buy happens.

Any new news on the group buy?

HI

I have Nitro although I have not used it a great deal - what I would say is it is a great multi fx plug-in.

The pre-sets (there are over 100) are very much based around modulation treatments like phasing, flanging, panning and the like.

I must admit that there are not a lot of sweeping filters although the very first pre-set is indeed a wonderfull sweeping filter, but saying that there are not many others.

This is a DEEPLY programmable VST and I love it.

The latest version is very stable - if you like and use fx treatments this is a superior workhorse that will give you plenty of variety.

Flipper.

I think it's the best overall FX plug I've used, as far as sound quality and variety... But, it does eat cpu on the Mac side... Don't know about the PC side yet... Really impressive in the scope of what you can do... The presets realy show the variety... Just wish it didn't use as much cpu, but that's a Mac thing!

Nitro is brilliant. Especially fun to play guitar through. I can spend hours jamming through this. Definitely a recommended purchase.

Yeah but the filter in Nitro is killer  Demoed it this weekend, and now I'll be forced to buy it...

I'd be very suprised if you were disappointed with it. Especially at the group buy price!!

I don't own it myself (yet), but I demo'd it last night and was very impressed! I've signed up for the group buy, but, like esl, have not had a reply.

OK, someone said they emailed me and never got a reply.

Ther are currently about 200 poeple on the list so obviously I can't reply to everyone.
Rozzer, you're on the list.

If you are unsure if you're on the list. send me an email and I'll double check.
Thanks

anyone care to do a compare and contrast with GMO- Modulator with PSP Nitro?

Nitro actually has a filter in it but can also do all the delay/chorus/falnger fx

while GMO is limited to chorus/flanger/delay fx???

I did about 32 of the presets for Nitro. It really is a multi-effects unit, and not 'just' a filter. It doesn't take long to get your head wrapped around how everything works either, and to me, was very enjoyable to use. What I like is it does standard filter sweeps to the weird and wacky. The matrix is great, and more flexible in routing than anything else I could name off the top of my head. If you're one to use a filter OUTSIDE of your VST's, this is one that should not be passed up.

I just thought I'd bump this thread for people who weren't around when the awesome flurry of initial replies came in...
