Audition is pretty much just for Audio, right? Can it host VSTi's? Or if not, how practical would it be to use FLStudio as a Rewire'd client?
What kind of copy protection does it have? (I don't want anything with a dongle, or anything that would make it difficult for me to change workstations.)
I think I'd really like Audition, even if it's not really a synth host. I'd have to choose between it and Sonar, which I'm also looking into (and would welcome any info).
Thanks
Tell me about Adobe Audition

To register Audition, you must have a separate key file that is unique to you. No dongle, no web authorization, no coming-back-if-you-change-your-disk-format-to-NTFS thingee.fishbowl.tucson.az wrote:Audition is pretty much just for Audio, right? Can it host VSTi's? It is not a synth host, but does host VST effects (and has its own effects as well). If your VST instrument can be an effect, it might be able to use it.
I also use Sonar, which has a simpler copy-protection scheme: serial number. The two aren't directly comparable because Sonar is outstanding as a VSTi host and MIDI/Audio sequencer. I often create and mix songs in Sonar and then master the mixed final stereo track in Audition. But your question has prompted me to wonder if I could do the final mastering in Sonar as well.
The bottom line is that Audition is a world-class audio editor and Sonar is a world-class audio/midi workstation. I should read more of Craig Anderton's book on mastering Sonar to see if I really need Audition at all. Hope this helps!
I've got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle. Do you?

Does indeed. Thanks for the info. It's hard to get details about copy protection before you buy.Swizzle wrote:Hope this helps!
