I need a hand putting a price on this package, the idea is I do all the webby type stuff and all the artist needs to do is upload the tracks – I then create a profile page and the links to the uploaded tracks in that page – the artist can also direct link to these files if placed in forums.
The big question is how much per month should I charge – I don’t want it to be high, but it also has to go a little to cover my time, on the profiles, bandwidth and diskspace.
This is essentially another package, but without anything fancy like cpanels, its like a ClearShot, but managed – and without the facility to create a webspace – I have other packaes for websites and Classic Label Listing is free to all current members, and new members of Cpanel accounts, the difference is for the majority the Virtual CDs are hosted in your space, while the example tracks hosted at AudioShots to save it eating up your bandwidth.
So this package..
Classic Account this is not the classic listing which is free to AudioShot members.
This is for the Classic Virtual Label Account at AudioShots, primarily this account is for people that do not want to build or understand websites. But it is geared to holding your music files with a profile at AudioShots linking to them.
You will be able to upload to a sub domain account, plus if ftp is a beast that you really don’t understand, there will be a provision in AudioShots for uploading via your web browser – these files will then be added to your profile for you.
This account is for music that is progressing, of high standard. Its really not worth getting this account if your music is in its infancy and you are just getting to grips with how to render a track. It is geared towards high bandwidth for music, and to been seen as another tool to promote your music from. You should also be prepared to submit a profile describing your music, goals, any photos or graphics you wish to include and all this will be put together on a page dedicated to your music.
The Classic Account provides free listing of any virtual cd’s you wish to sell, bandwidth and disk space will be made available to you up to a maximum of 20 gigs per month, also a protected directory for uploading and distributing your sold albums from. Please see the audioshots.com site for an example
The Classic Account provides free listing for singles you wish to sell. Please note you will need to be able to generate PayPal buttons for use on the selling pages – these pages are all constructed for you and the paypal buttons embedded. The sales go directly to you, the artist.
The Classic account starts with 200 MB worth of disk space, and bandwidth made available to cover your music that is listed in your profile at AudioShots.
You will also be Listed as a featured artist.
What do you think is an ok price to charge?

no idea.. but (:hihi:) I'd simply just add up how much bandwidth/serverspace/electricity will be per person .. and find a point in the 'curve' where you're making money (as opposed to losing it 
) and yet its still affordable to your customers.. 
outside of that.. no clue.. if you're giving us the chance to vote.. how about free?

Well I can’t do free on it – though I would love to really. 
AudioShot and AudioShots is a long term project, but what it does need is a balance when it comes to packages, as I have with the Cpanels – this package will require more interaction with the client, so really it’s an added time aspect. I also think the site is going to generate a lot of traffic in the future so I may be able to subsidise the cost with one banner ad at the AudioShots site on the front page – but I will never go down the road of anything more than that – because then I am heading down a slippery path and moving too far from my goals at AudioShot – especially the ClearShot which is an ad free place, and will stay that way.
AudioShots will also host news of sites hosted at AudioShot – so I think over all the banwidth and disk space is going to be mega mega
This is the most difficult package to price so far.
Any input to what a cost would be - would be great - as I can place it against my own ideas, and see if I am way off base or not, that I am not posting because I would like to see what others think first.

Still have some gaps left for really really cool music that I will host for free if you need it. With the Classic Account – but these free accounts will be for MP3’s only – plus graphics for the profile and the free listing for Virtual CD’s
