I'm having problems with the combis in SS2Free. When loading the Combis I keep getting "Instrument x is missing" messages (usually Instrument 1). For example YesDualKeys only loads Instrument 2; Instrument 1 is reported missing.

I have downloaded and extracted all 20 of the instruments from the website.

What am I doing wrong?

First thing to do is go into the instrument folder and check to see if each voice title contains three files. There should be an .sth file, an .sti file, and a .stw file for each voice. If one of those are missing, try reinstalling those voices. HTH

Yep,done that. There are 60 files altogether in the SS2Instruments folder...an .sth file, .sti file and .stw file for each instrument.

The problem is that the combi is referencing SS2 instruments that you don't have - instruments that aren't part of the SS2 FREE installation.

There have been a few people with this problem. If I remember correctly (Squids will correct me if I'm wrong), the combis are for a different set of free SS2 instruments (ones for the Keyboard magazine version of SS2 FREE I think).

So, bummer. You'll just have to have fun making your own combis.

Forever,

Kim.

Don't get too down - there's a LOT that you can do with SS2 FREE. 8)

Don't get me wrong. I'm impressed with SS2 especially the relatively low CPU usage on my steam driven computer.

I's just that it would have been nice to see how certain sounds are put together from a learning point of view.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a steam-driven computer. Sometimes I can squeeze a few more tracks in, if I back-fill the maphrolyzer before I pipe-load my data to the collecting bowl.

Sorry, it just seemed necessary.
