....it seems like a blast to work with. The step sequencer is top-notch as well. Ive searched through the help file but I dont see any info on dragging and dropping midi files.
Can this be done using Stylus RMX?

as far as the drag and drop thing, im almost 100% positive that it does. i can't check right now, though.
never used stylus rmx, couldn't tell you about that

Just create a generator channel you need (for example, Absynth or RMX) and the drag and drop the midi file onto the generator's button in the step sequencer.someone_somewhere wrote:....it seems like a blast to work with. You can use different midi files for each pattern.

BUT.... if I drag a midi file in from stylus on pattern 1 it works fine. If I load a loop on part 2 of stylus and drag that into pattern 2 pattern 2 is triggering the sounds from loop 1, but obviously in a jumbled way.
make sense? any thoughts?

Ah yes. I'm not familiar with RMX but you probably need to use a multichannel generator wrapper. This is the "Midi Out" generator. It can be set to send on separate channels and I assume RMX works this way.someone_somewhere wrote:thanks kovacs! worked a treat...

Create one instance of the Midi Out for each channel you need in RMX, then set the right MIDI channel in the plugin wrapper window. Drag the midi loops onto the different MIDI out generators, NOT onto the RMX generator.
At least, this is how it works with NI Kompakt.
Note that this means you can use one instance of RMX and have many channels send on a single step sequencer pattern, so you can get a lot of sound this way! Very easy in FLS.
