aloha
at the moment i am planning to hit the stage after years of absence.
back then i used a yamaha qx1 sequencer - 2 ensoniq asr10rs - a roland jv1080 and a quasimidi cybersix as a masterkeyboard.
now i want to use a pc onstage.. very little usage of vsts, mostly audio backing tracks and a virus-kb as main keyboard. so midi, audio and some vsts.
how does anybody here who plays live with a puter onstage organize the songs?
which host?
one big file with tempochanges?
many files and reloading inbetween songs?
bluescreens onstage?
any hints?
thnx
dekky
how do you organize your liveset?

We use ORION Platinum on stage with no problems whatsoever. I used to worrry about gaps between songs but these days I actually enjoy having a break to get ready for the next one and crack wise with the punters so we just load 'em one by one. If we need to, ORION can pretty much load the next song while I hold the last note on my K-Station.
SiK plays his OctaPad, which triggers samples from a DrumRack in ORION and I play the K over the top of the sequencer, making no attempt to interact with the PC. The current ORION beta has improvements in audio recording which allow me to believe that I will be able to run my vocals into the PC and process them in ORION, which will mean no longer having to use the X-VAmp I bought last year.

I don't organise too much - generally it's improv with a loose flowchart worked out in advance that is inevitably thrown out the window in the first five minutes. The few times I've brought the computer it's been running Audio Mulch, which is very improv-friendly.

there wont be much space for impros...
its pretty song orientated ... with my puter running as the main command thing for everything else onstage..
so i am pretty scared of a crash midshow
it will basically look like this:
