Is there anything software out there that will play RealAudio files without the crazy bloat-ware crap in RealOne Player? Any ideas?

It can be done. There's a codec around somewhere called "RealAlternative" or something similar. Sorry, no link available, but I wanted to reassure you that your search isn't fruitless while someone more helpful comes along.

Jet Audio plays them natively - as well as just about every other format out there.

I could never get winamp to play wmv's

of course, there are a lot of things I've never had work right

I'm going to give that Real Alternative a try.

Real player freezes up my computer everytime I click on a media file to play it. I've had to avoid any Real player files.

Can I play .ram files with something other than RealOne?
