This new machine is not online.
Am I going to run into a problem because I can't access the Steinberg site from this machine?
Can I register the product from my home computer?
Anything I need to be leery of here?
thanks in advance...
Mark

Historically, Steinberg has used either dongles or copy-protected CD's to secure their software. There was no internet access required to install the software, and no challenge-response authorization.garzmil wrote:This new machine is not online.

The exception: If you have two or more Steinberg products that use the same type of dongle (say Cubase, Halion, and Hypersonic), then license manager software would have to be run on an internet-capable machine if you want to move all of the licenses to one dongle.
Disclaimer: I presently have no Steinberg software, although at one point I had X-Phraze, which used a copy-protected CD. This post is based on posts seen here and cubase.net

Thanks Doug, from what I've been reading here and on other forums, this stand alone version of SE doesn't have a dongle. I think only the Studio Case version does.
I'm just trying to prepare for any hang ups I might have on Sunday when I go to the studio to install this and try to get everything up and running.
