Woah, I just got your other sounds this afternoon, and now you've got another instrument finished!
Wow, downloading now...
In fact, I'm working on a song right now that features one of your instruments -- the Tarka, I believe.
Keep up the awesome work!

Hi Herman,
First, let me thank you for these well-made and unusual sounds.
Second, I have a problem with the Bombarde. It is not working for me in VSampler 3.5 in giga 2.5 format. The two others sounds (in the same format), were working normally...
Someone got it making some sounds in Gigastudio or
Kontakt???

Would it be possible to release your samplepacks as wavefiles, too?
I have no sampler plug which loads giga files.
I really like your 'Peruvian Tarka' & 'Percussion FX' packs.
tl.

I don't know about the limitations of free demos of sample format converters, but I think you should try:
Chickensys Translator (www.chickensys.com)
CdXtract (www.cdxtract.com)

The Giga editor has its own ways now and then. It sometimes saves as GS3 format when it's supposed to be saved in GS2.5. I'll reupload the file to make sure it works correct. Try again in about 15 minutesgugusse wrote:Hi Herman,

you write at your website:
You wouldn't believe how loud the instrument sounds when you see the small double-reed shawm.
Well actually I bought a bombarde at Heidelberg many years ago and my neighbours found my really skilled playing
was actually a bit too loud
so I had to stop it (and in the meantime I had killed the little thing in which you blow too, don't know the english name
)
Thanks very much for sharing!!!

The reed.
Yeah. I messed up a reed a few months ago. This was the last one, so I just ordered a backup reed at some German website. I also ordered one of those bagpipe practice chanters, cause I heard they sound pretty neat.

Well, not functionning at all (no sound) loading giga 2.5 version but if I export as sf2 inside VSampler, it plays fine... except that I miss the keyswitches in the second patch (staccato).Herman Witkam wrote:

O, I thought it was the version error thing again. Well, after trying them you can add feedback on the guestbook page:

Herman, I can confimr the VSampler problem with Bombarde and the Giga 2.5 version.
I re-downloaded last night and there was no difference.
It's strange because it didn't happen for any of your other instruments.

Here's a traditional example of bombarde's use in a bagad (breton folkloric band).
If you're looking for some of the best handmade reeds (at least, they're said to be in brittany), try to get some made by Daniel Le Noan.
