Trying out the xlutop chainer I found it didn't recognize DXI plug ins? Is this common for chainers or is this a demo thing?

The only plug-in chainer I know of with DXi support is Brainspawn Forte.

I don't have Chainer, but I think it only does VST and VSTi. Art Teknika Console does VST, VSTi, DX, and DXi. You could use Console as a VST within Chainer and load your DX and DXi in Console, or Console also is a standalone so I assume you could use it instead of Chainer.

The FFX-4 is a four slot freebie, like my last girlfriend.

I open this in Chainer whenever I need to use DX plugs. Seems to work OK.

FFX-4 doesn't handle DXi's, only DX effects.
