I started a thread myself right here about this plug, but everyone, myself included had wrong assumtions, this sounds nothing like standard convolution or curve stealing EQ's.Either Waves found a new way to capture not only the curves and correct phase response or......,they found something better than Sine/sweep to capture the hardware. It would have been nicer if they brought it further by having something similar to Voxengo's Curve EQ for further tweaking instead of choosing preset cuts/boosts which gets silly after a while. One thing I noticed though which no one has commented on yet.I noticed the Neve presets are quite a bit warmer than anything else included which leads me to believe that they did those capture's off Neve strips and Pre's rther than standalone like the others which means this thing captures Preamps as well as it does EQ which is even more important to me.Being able to apply a Preamp as a plugin is something Iv'e dreamed about for quite sometime, and I think it's now here,at least 95% of the way.Too bad it's a pace infected Waves plug.

Alan I wouldn't be surprised that if in two months Voxengo had put out a similar plug at a tenth of the price (and no PACE) as the Q-clone. Too bad dynamic convolution is a patented process though as it'd be great if Alesky could implement that.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Exactly my thoughts.Funkybot wrote:Alan I wouldn't be surprised that if in two months Voxengo had put out a similar plug at a tenth of the price (and no PACE) as the Q-clone.
Either Waves is paying the piper(Sintefex)along with something they discovered,or something different altogether,I have no idea, but it's not standard convolution. In fact I thought I'd be a wise-ass by running diracs through the presets before the 7 day demo time out,but their useless.Too bad dynamic convolution is a patented process though as it'd be great if Alesky could implement that.
