Audio-controlled sidechained freaker gate in eXT

Greetings,

This one especially for the eXT gurus :), an "how would you set this up if you really had to" sort of question.

The situation is like this: I've got two tracks of audio and I'd like to set up a modular eXT workspace where we'd have a kind of gate effect happening.

Most of the time track A would play and track B would be silent. But on occasion, there would be some audio appearing in track B. This is when I'd like some kind of gate to kick in, with adjustable attack/release, to completely kill the audio in track A (only track B is heard), but once track B goes silent/pretty quiet again, track A returns.

Any help or ideas much appreciated, and thanks Jorgen for a FINE piece of software, I am having more fun than I think is legal in this state learning it. :)

you'd need something that would convert audio volume to a midi CC (I'm sure this exists - try searching).

you then route the midi cc to the volume of the B channel and the inverted CC to the volume of the A channel.

does that help - maybe give you a starter? :)

mdsp's ENV2MIDI could do the trick.

tobybear has a plugin that would do this to (name escapes me at the moment)

i made this a few days ago , but didn't get round to post it .
it's basically a sidechain ducker realised in eXT (effect version !).

first audio input takes the track A and the second track B . (yellow marks the main control to adjust the ducking)

to use the setup you need mdsp's ENV2MIDI and NicFit's nF_CC_Scale which i have both included for convenience .
Get the file HERE .

just had the time to test it and it seems to work well  (hadn't got the time to do so before)
