I noticed that the Groove Capsule includes REX2 files. Has anybody imported these into RMX. If so what was the results?

Ooh, Groove Capsule in RMX... 8)

Seriously though, I haven't tried it (I don't have RMX), but think it should work fine.

no that shouldnt work because from what i know Stylus has a "closed" format and can only be expanded with SAGE expander libraries.

Reason on the other hand will load the Rex2 of course. and so will a few other samplers. but Stylus is a ROMpler

You must be behind the times Mr Tunes - Stylus RMX can indeed import rex files as well as it's own proprietary format.

From what I recall it can import both REX1 and REX2.

:? You didn't even read the Stylus RMX web page.
The Stylus RMX web page wrote:“Xpandable”
Stylus RMX marks Spectrasonics’ first expandable virtual instrument, with a series of five new “S.A.G.E. Xpanders” for Stylus RMX at $99US retail each. Stylus RMX also can be expanded with existing Groove Control CD-ROM libraries and even REX files – which opens the door for musicians to utilize their own audio loops within the powerful S.A.G.E. Environment.
(my emphasis)

Further down the page, we have:
The Stylus RMX web page wrote:Expandable with Propellerheads REX files, which allow a user to import their own audio loops via ReCycle™.

Don't worry about it though. We all make silly mistakes sometimes.

yep sorry guys! i was stuck in 2002 when the first Stylus came out.

if it can import REX then it should definitely import the Groove Capsule.

thanks for helping me out Jeez, but it looks like Caleb beat you to it?

:o

It'd have to beat RMX to be at all worthwhile... and RMX seriously kicks arse. :-o

And that'd be like punching Eric with his favourite toy. :hihi:

Kim.
That it does..no doubt.

I should have worded my question a little better. I know it would import the rx2 files (at least theoreticaly) What I was wondering was how were the grooves and drum qualty as compared to say the SAGE expansion BackBeat. Would the Groove Capsule work well with the CHAOS function in RMX.

Looks like I might have to be a pioneer and give it a try since nobody seems to have done it. With the impending ST2 sounds update, however, I am a little stingy with using my epointz

 Yeah, I don't know the answer to that. I haven't heard any of the SAGE expansion libraries. No doubt they're good though.

I suppose it depends a lot on what you're looking for too. Groove Capsule will have a different sound to any of Spectrasonics' stuff, so it might be useful to have both. Groove Capsule will add a different "flavour" to your collection.

Groove Capsule's a bit of "secret weapon" too, because Sonic Reality is not a big name in loop libraries. Everyone (except me  ) has Stylus RMX, but I think Groove Capsule will be pretty special. It's got a wide range of material, so it'll be flexible and useful into the future too, not like dedicated "genre" libraries.

I think it will.

That'd be cool. Be sure to tell us how it goes. :)
