I've often wondered what would be the reaction if I put up a track in the Music Cafe that was actually a commercial release by one of my favourite artists.

What I mean is if I put it up as my own track (under a diff guise presumably), how would it go down?

The point I'm trying to make is that clearly (as all the heated arguments here show) good music is an entirely personal thing, and I imagine that most of the music I really like, most of you guys would hate. The reverse would no doubt be true too.

It's odd that music isn't truly universal (with the exception being James Brown of course)...

I've often thought the same thing - how frustrating it is when you play a fave track to a friend - and they say "yeah it's nice" but they don't really get it on the same level.... there's nothing more you can do to get them to appreciate it, besides give them a brain transplant maybe...

yeah I know what you mean there.

Although worse for me personally is that person that says "yeah it's okay..."

I like people to have an opinion even if they are completely wrong

I just checked out some George Fomby MIDI's. I play this kind of stuff on my ukulele. Very "Blue's Clues".

ah shit, just for the record, I was just kidding

yep, music is unique, exactly like dress sense, art, cars, favourite smells, decor, film, food, wine, hobbies...

altho i do see your point sort of,but from an "artist" point of view cool its means i can be subjective and someone else may like it too
