Does FLStudio5 support XG midi synths?

I've just dusted off my venerable Yamaha SW1000XG soundcard and was curious to know if the XG sound bank and its effects were supported by the latest incarnation of Fruity Loops. I've tried the FL5 demo, checked the presets and the various midi controllers (dashboard, etc...), but can't see any references to the XG sound set.

Years ago the only audio software that supported the SW1000XG card without the need for a third party editor (XGEdit) was Making Waves; is this still the case?

I'd much prefer to use FLStudio on its own, if anyone knows how to access the XG midi sound set (+effects) from within FL5 i'd appreciated some help.

Thanks

I have a Yamaha XG keyboard (PSR-2000). I've played stuff from FLS on it.

Since XG is a superset of GM, if you get the bank and program changes out of TFM you should be able to send that to the sound card. You'd treat it just as any other external synth that has its own presets and banks.

I don't believe there's anything special for XG, though - no preset maps, no dashboard with XG controls, etc.

Slightly off-topic: I'd like a decent XG VSTI for WinXP. I have several that do GS and/or GM2, but that doesn't help me on the Yamaha.

Yamaha has created the S-YXG50 VSTi for this:

Thanks for the reply.

I spent some time fiddling with the GM patches and found a couple of LSB/LMB settings that allowed me to access the extended XG drum sets - still no luck with the midi FX though.

Anyone know if it's possible to edit the default patch names? It gets confusing when i want to select a particular kit and have to choose the GM Harmonica; not the most elegant of solutions.

And, I can't find the NRPN list for the SW100XG FXs anywhere.
eh?
