I just saw Herbie Hancock play on monday.

It was the one of the most amazing and brilliant shows I have ever seen. The band was so amazingly tight, and their transitions were so seamless.

Totally amazing!!!!!

and for all you computer music geeks : He was playing a grand piano with a Moog Piano Bar, and a midi controller. He was using a Yamaha Motif rack, and some other box, also an iBook with Logic. I dont know what softsynths he was using though.

I actually worked - briefly - with/for/around Herbie for a while. He's one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

He's a true "geek" in best sense of that word, too. At the time, he had his "home studio" out in his garage (he's married too, some things never change!) and had just tons of all sorts of equipment and wires running all over the place.

He's not like some famous people who just play keys and don't get into the tech. He can talk and walk it all the way around.
