Wow. With a title like that, how can you go wrong?
Anyways, some of you might remember I posted a few mp3 demos of my guitar soundfont. And now I have finished it!
Here's a demo:
http://herculeaneffort.adventuredevelop ... ardemo.mp3
And now here's the download:
http://s8.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0IGOA ... S2R3YK6YI4
(sorry, it's just yousendit.com, I need to find a better way to host it)
Feel free to redistribute the soundfont or put it on your website, etc., but please leave the files inside the zip file intact and unedited.
Enjoy!

Wow, OUTSTANDING stuff here! This could very well be the best guitar soundfont I've yet used, and this is coming from someone who owns Hans Zimmer Guitars 1..
I could be nitpicky about a few small details, but for a free 18mb download, no way. This is great. Thanks!

Yeah, there's a few things that come to my mind, too...zircon wrote: I could be nitpicky about a few small details...
The tone is sort of thin-sounding so you might have to boost the lows and mids. I was tempted to do that myself, but that would ruin the point of having a completely dry soundfont.
The song in the demo is Donna Lee, which I chose for no apparent reason. The effects used in Donna Lee were generated using Amplitube.
Also, I noticed that the soundfont isn't completely compatible with LiveSynth -- it doesn't play the release samples correctly.
Also notice there's a few "scratch" sounds on the lower keys. That's the sound of the pick scraping against a string. If there's a note you want to put more of an accent on, place on of these "scratches" right before the accented note. Make the scratch note short and quieter. If placed correctly, it can add a lot of realism, but using these sounds are completely optional.
Spe3D, thanks for uploading the soundfont for me!
My next soundfont project is a bass guitar twin of this guitar soundfont. It might take a bit longer to put together if you guys want slap & pop stuff with it. I also have a few latin percussion instruments (all sorts of shakers, cowbells, etc.) in the bakery.

Also I have just started this little project for visitors to contribute a small sample – then they mix it – then it mastered – the idea being fun mainly, but also to allow different mix and master combinations to be found – if you have a one shot sample that may not end up in a sound font, and don’t mind it being distributed for this project – please either upload or let me know and I will post it for you.
It’s on this thread
http://audioshots.com/auditorium/viewtopic.php?t=144
we got a couple of home grown samples up already – this stage is open for a week, grilla has uploaded a hit from a singing bowl too.
Re- your other font projects, I know they can take a while to upload if they are big – but if you pm me in the future I can give you an email to send the font to and I will make the post and upload it for you no problem there.
Great work imo, thank you
Best regards,
Peter

This is a great(!!) guitar.
I see what you mean about adding the effects. You can really make this sound fantastic on leads with some lo-fi distortion effects and a delay.
Woohoo!
Me like very much.

This is 'great' stuff. At least as good, if not better, than the commercial guitar sf2's I have. Thanks Geoff
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.
