I have never done my own mastering. I am thinking of jumping in the Ozone group buy. What are your thoughts on Ozone? (I know the refrain "try the demo", but truthfully I don't trust my initial judgment anyway).

i love it, quick and easy to get a great sound. only complaint is it's a bit cpu intensive (shouldn't be a problem when mastering though).jeffn1 wrote:I have never done my own mastering. I really love it. good all in one package. Lots of presets for the novice, that can be tweaked for the song. Worth the price for sure.

For it's price Ozone cannot be beaten. The EQ, harmonic exciter, limiter, and dither are all first rate. The EQ is the highest resolution linear phase equalizer less than $1000. The limiter in Ozone was the best limiter on the market until Waves came out with L3. And the dither included is still the best on the market. And it's for $300.

Ozone is the greatest. Only caveat is take your time and learn it well. The presets are just a rough guide.
Oh yes. And use good monitors.

I am waiting for confirmation on the group buy on that, as soon as I hear that 145 is indeed the price I am in.

I guess I will wait a little longer, but I can't imagine that it will not reach the 50 person level.

I paid $397 for all three last year during some promotion deal. And factor this in: they only had DX at that point, so I just had to pay another $100ish to crossgrade to VST after the VST versions came out (got tired of wrapping them in Console in energyXT). But I'm sure you will get both versions now, for about 60% of what I have in them.
If you're only after one of them, I doubt you'll see this price anytime soon. If you're after all three you MIGHT see a promotion some time in the next year, but who knows? I say go for it - I'd be all over it if I didn't have them. I feel confident that if you don't buy Ozone for $145 you will regret it. I doubt you'll ever even see it used at that price, assuming they allow license transfers.
