Well, as my dad used to listen to classical all the time, I DO appreciate a lot of it, but probably like a few others, would be stuck on the names of the pieces. Does that make me a phillistine?

In similar vain though, the hymn 'Jerusalem' gets me every time. Spiritual, uplifting, meloncholic, One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever, and I have still to find the definitive version. (But it will involve a massive choir and massive reverb, etc)

1812.

Cheesy probably, but i heard it a lot when i was very young, and kinda digged it.

My favorite used to be From the New World, but now it would be either the Brandenburg Concertos or Schumann's Toccata in C Major (one of my goals in life is to learn to play it all the way :) )

Mr Blake wrote that, it is not a hymn. What it is though, is a lament of the industrialisation of London ("dark satanic mills", etc)

Or do you mean Jerusalem by Sleep??

I meant Mr Blake's choon.

However, I presumed it was referring to the 'Northern' dark satanic mills? Whatever, its magnificent.
