\\\\\\\here's one for the sound design minded here on the forums ... I've always been haunted by the shimmering guitar sound during the verses of U2's Lemon, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to recreate using VST effects, pref. freeware! I know there's delay, some form of mdulation (pitchshifting?) and a pretty wet reverb going on, but the details escape me .. I keep ending up with something that sounds like bathwater going down the plughole. At a great distance. In lo-fi. Any help appreciated! :)

My wet dream is this for vst:

This along with a tremlo would give the exact lemon effect.. :harp: ..drooool.... everybody go spam them for a vst version. I have already.

Besides this, pitch shift original guitar sound one octave up, tremlo sync with a vst plug, reverb and it's a rough approximation...the eventide he uses is a magic box of tricks that has that (plus another billion other lovley ones). There is nothing vst that can compete :(

Um, that does look rather tasty doesn't it? What a waste its only for Pro Tools! So the Lemon sound is a held chord with tremelo and reverb to smear the sound a bit? I always thought it (being the Edge an' all)was a staccato chord with echo which is probably why I couldn't get close to the original ...
