I suppose this aplies to anyone performing or those who play an instrument and/or dj, but how about it?...when you're doing your thing do you make funny faces? I make more funny faces then Joe Walsh when I play guitar. I had to accept it though, because concentrating on not being me brings down my performance level. It really looks like I'm trying to shape my tone wth my mouth and twisting my face all up. One bass player I had once said it was the result of all my focus being on my playing and my face is free to do as it chooses, and like me it's crazy... :hihi:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Funny faces is one thing...lewd acts with a female on stage is another...just don't hump your damn guitar on stage or people'll know you've got issues...:P :hihi:

Some website had a "guitar face" contest a while back. Forget which one. Some of the entrants were pretty good but who could beat Steve Howe? :-) [edit] Unless maybe it's Chris Squire.

My mate says I look fierce or intense while playing. I don't notice. I'd be a lousy poker player.

Heard just before this fellow started looking like that:

"Dear, do you mind waiting here? I'm going to run into the music store."

"Go right ahead, darling."

"Right." *run run run run CRASH* "oog."

I tend to bite my lip when I play drums (which I do just for fun and excercize).

the faces guitarists make is one of the reasons it's hard to take them seriously sometimes :hihi:

I haven't noticed if I do, no matter what I do I think I tend to have a fairly neutral looking face (especially djing, since I don't really do any work there :hihi: ). I sometimes grin a little bit when I've got something sweet sounding but that about covers my musical range of facial expressions. :)

I hear I make the gayest face ever when I scratch

I don't even necessarily have to be playing a musical instrument to make a funny face, though it certainly happens. It's nothing compared to the faces I used to make playing basketball though...

Now body language, well that's a whole different barrel of monkeys... :D

She makes some unusual faces when I...:o
What? I consider that making music...:P

I've watched videos of myself playing, and I'm the most stoic, non-expressive player I know, next to Bill Wyman. My hands move, but I don't.

So much for my aspiration to be a front man.

Ahhhh, but afterwards, my face is a cornucopia of reflective ecstasy!
