do not i repeat do not use screams to make tracks scarier :hihi:
if you do try to mess about with pitches and decays(i love draggin a lady screamin down into the bottom octaves :-o )
its how you use what you already have

whisper bollocks into a mic then cut it up and put a rotary on it,but then place it so far back in the mis it may aw well be the recipe for hash muffins(beleive me)and it can still sound eerie 8)

you can look in Best Buy for these B-grade horror movies from the 50's that cost like 2 dollars a pop. the series i have was made in canada so i dont know if you get them down there, but surely something similar is around. if you're just making these tracks for yourself then i dont think there's an ethical issue here. i also assume you will make her sound scarier with the sampler.

A good example of what I am talking about is in the Drum n Bass track "Clones" by Ice Minus. It has a lot of random effects including a delayed and distorted sample of a women screaming.

You can say that

On a more serious note, you might want to browse the Internet Archive's Feature Film collection. There are several horror movies and others that might contain women screaming. I believe the movies in that collection are supposed to be in the public domain so there shouldn't be a problem with sample clearance.

yep a much better suggestion than mine.
some of the old public service announcements might have a woman screaming if it's about something "evil" in society.

in Jeff Rona's The Reel World he actually kind of encourages the use of sampling old horror movies for a basis to find certain sounds. cause after you run it through your own envelopes, filters, and effects, and then layer it with something else, who cares about copyright issues.

i think B-rated Science Fiction movies are just kickass for samples. Archive.org has some movies about the space program in the US.

Ditto.I was going to mention an old horror flick called the "Manster",in where a scene with his wife discovering him for the first time with 2 heads produced one of the best screams Iv'e ever heard, but my ribs still hurt from laughing at the thought. :hihi:
