you'll find a performance which uses:

M42 & Kontakt in a forte ensemble rack,
real guitar & strings

in a composition.
Base of the composition are images of the crab nebula taken by Voyager.
The source material of the tracks were generated with ArtSong from digital expressions.

Have fun,

:-) Jovan

took a listen ...

any reason why this is encoded in 96kpbs ?... it really does the track no favors ...

i enjoy finding a track that makes full use of dynamics , but you have a serious level problem here ... the 'quiet' parts are way too quiet ... almost non-existent ...

i suggest you spend some time re-mixing this , paying attention to levels ...
the time would be well spent ...
overall , i liked this track ...

you will get more feedback on this if you post it in the cafe ...

and welcome to KvR ...

The first part is very quiet, but i like the transition. The dynamics thruout are rather extreme, but maybe that is your intention, which is fine. Sorta like the crab nebula itself. Glad you picked an astronomical subject.

To be honest, M1( the crab nebula) has been deluding me in my star observing sessions. I cannot find it for the life of me..have telrad charts and everything..just can't find it..very ellussive..or maybe I need darker skies then my suberbia.

Thanks for this piece. I like it a lot.

Wow. Symphonic. The piece captured the Crab Nebula/Voyager perfectly.

I liked this a lot and also would like to hear a better mp3 version. I thought the volume contrasts were appropriate for this serious orchestral-like work.

Congratulations. I look forward to your next piece ...

anyway you are partial right.
But the dynamic of this pieces goes from "pppp" (a very quiet quasar signal) up to "ffff" (the death of a star - implosion!).
I suggest give full power to your loudspeakers, accept the pain in your ears and hear the difference.

Thank you for your positive feedback.
During composing I experimented a lot with Absynth 3 & M42.
Finally I decided to use M42 because of its excellent sound material and easier handling during a life performance.
M42 is a great synthesizer! Congatulations!

The offical first performance will be at the International Guitar Festival in Rust,Austria, at 20.3.2005.
Funnily enough I'll play the M42 with a ZTAR, a guitar MIDI controller (starrlabs.com), each string contolls another instance of the VST rack, the classical guitar is played by Gabriel Guillen, an artist from Venuzela and the strings are the "Ensemble Neue Wiener Streicher".
