Automating cubase channel settings with an external device

I've tried to find information about this in the reference manual and over forums on the web, but haven't really found much.
Is it possible to record automation of cubase channel settings or plugins using an external midi controller? I have an M-audio Ozone keyboard with 8 fader-knobs and I would like to control my cubase settings, for example cutoff and resonance, with these knobs and record it as automation in cubase. How can I do this? I can't even figure out ow to assign the external controllers to move parameters in cubase. For example Reaktor 4 has this very handy "midi learn" -function in which I can "teach" my Ozone to move certain parameters with certain knobs. Has cubase anything like that? I use version 2.0 SX. Help would be very higly appreciated!
