Herman, this is truly awesome. You keep giving us more and more great sounds. I plan to donate, but it will be a couple weeks or so. My wife and I just got some new furniture, so we've spent enough this past month, but our taxes will be coming back soon(whenever I get around to finishing them!) and I hope to send a little your way. It may not be much, but at least it will be something.

Thanks again! Your work is truly appreciated!

Must not play contemporary music with ethnic instruments...bbbwwwwahaaahaaa...

Thanks Herman, this sampleset is lots of fun to play with and sounds good :) In the past I've downloaded one or two soundfonts that are similar, but there just weren't enough samples to make them sound reasonable or fun to play, your set breaks the mould.

I mightn't record any music with it, but for what it's worth I think you've made some people very happy. The lack of feedback you get might be somewhat frustrating, but I wouldn't let it worry you too much, people usually sing more praise when something's no longer available.

Anyone know of a guide to composing for the 'pipes?

Must resist ethnic instruments...must resist :D

If you write for pipes keep in mind that the notes all have to be connected to each other, since there is a constant flow of air going on, unless the player takes a break. If he's going to play he'll need time to fill the bag. Also, he'll be playing a constant drone at a fixed note. To give the impression of a real bagpipe you should use only one note, preferrably a low one. As an update I might loop the lower notes of the RAW Chanter for that in the future.
