Does such a thing exist?
I'd love something to jot down all the useful info that I need when I'm mixing and recording, and save it within the song file...

Scribbler--

This is the file itself--I use it from time to time and like it.

Cubase has a notepad feature, saved in the song file.

This is something that FL Studio has inherently built in, not only that, but an HTML journal as well... but as far as a freeware VST notepad... hmm. Sounds like a great freebie idea (along with a BMP/JPG/GIF image showing VST...).

AnalogX's DXPad.
However, rather being than VST plugin, it's a DirectX one...
It works well for me - I have it setup in a master insert slot, in SX, for every project.
The only thing is you can't resize it's window!
You'll find it here...

I think if anybody can do it right, it'll be TobyBear. sounds like something up his alley.

Well, Scribbler doesn't show up in Logic 5.5.1 for windows...
DXPad is alright (thanks for the link btw) but it's a little small and doesn't allow the 'bolding' of text - considering it was last updated in 1999 I doubt these features will be on the horizon.
A well-featured vst notepad would be such a useful thing... BMP/JPG/GIF integration would be cool as well - you could take pics of mic setups and hardware gear settings etc.
