So many goodies here. I've been tooling with 67_GSyn_HoldWS on the GuitarStation bank. I put this in the category of Hearts-of-Space-in-the-Box.
So much fun with one finger -- should be illegal. Great job, guys. Loads of playable patches.

How does Manystation compare to Sonic Synth 1, Sonic Synth 2, Sampeltank 1 and Sampeltank 2? (I know its much cheaper, but I suppose additional banks will be forthcoming).

Let me take a stab at this, jeff. I know others will have their own perspective. As an owner of Sampletank 1 and 2 plus Sonic Synth 1 (haven't gone with the upgrade on SS2 yet), for me it's all about work flow. Make no mistake Sampletank and Sonic Synth have TONS of sounds. And most of them are outstanding. Not only the "bread and butter" sounds, but great synths for leads and pads. The FX in Sampletank/SonicSynth is first rate and really adds to the soundsets.jeffn1 wrote:How does Manystation compare to Sonic Synth 1, Sonic Synth 2, Sampeltank 1 and Sampeltank 2? So, why do I always load up Wusikstation/ManyStation first? IMHO...
1. W/MStations open much faster than SonicSynth/SampleTank and load the sounds faster as well.
2. W/MStations interface very well with Sonar and EnergyXT (my "go to" vst players).
3. Once I learned the fairly simple task of tweaking the sounds, it opened up A LOT of creativity in the W/MStations. The presets begged to be tweaked. And with the built-in mixer it is easy to add (or quiet) the different sounds. I suppose having more FX like SS1/ST2 would be desirable, but I find the FX available in the Wusikstation is good enough. (Plus you can always chain in extra FX from the VST world.)
4. But the thing that makse the most difference is the WaveSequencer. It is is phenominal (and I do not believe there is a counterpart in SonicSynth/SampleTank). If you love "moving sounds" and rhythmic beats, I don't know of a quicker way to make this happen inside of VSTi.
I still love SS1/ST2 and use them all the time. But W/MStations lets me get at the sounds I'm looking for more quickly.
Hope this is helpful.

You know you really can't compare the 2 directly. Dave (Squids) of SS1 and SS2 fame is a great Sound Developer, and I think him and I both share a common passion, and that is Recording Sounds, and Developing Great Music Tools. Both our Products will be of benifit to users in different but yet the same ways. (I do own all said Products except SS2)
Manytone wanted to get ManyStation out at a great Starting Price to allow as many users as possible to be able to afford it, and make use of this incredible technology. So we may not have the full amount of content that SS has, but we are not as expensive either.
We will have though, the addon "ManyMores" that will allow the users to Buy the addon SampleSets that they want as easy inexpensive additions.
Also most of these will be 24 bit, Highly multisampled, High Quality material, that I Manytone, Hand Produce. The Guys can tell you about the Sample quality from ManyTone if you ask or read some posts on the forum here.
Hope this sheds a bit of light on your question.
Thanks
Paul

Thanks for the responses. One thing for sure, there are many quality developers offering great software for electronic musicians.

Right
Now Back On track
Awesome presets I think it was !!!
Today.... I Love Teksonik Bank
63 _OF_Teksture... (OF is one finger BTW)
The cool thing here is.. Play it live with a keyboard and with your free hand once and a while switch the Layers on and off (especially the Drums) and keep playing different things.
Even Layer 1 which is off can be turned on to add to the sound. It is like a whole Trip on 1 preset. It is so much more than one finger stuff
Hell of a way to kill an Hour!!
Also there is a bunch of others you can do this with in all the Banks.
Tek really did some cool stuff here as well as all the guys.
I think we could see a big list here eventually

I love Teksonik's bank as well. I was hoping to give an up-to-date report on some of the presets I was able to run through, but my son came home from school and started playing with "Many." And well -- who needs Playstation when you've got ManyStation
He loved the Guitarstation bank. And he raved about the basses. He thought they were some of the best he's heard (and he loves SampleTank2). He didn't care much for the SEQ patches, but what does he know? He can play those licks without any help -- unlike his old man
Bottom line: you have the adulation and praise of a 15-year-old. Nice job!

I've just had a chance to run through all the other sound designer's banks and I'm very impressed with the quality and variety of patches. It's fascinating to hear how each person approached the Manystation from a different perspective. There's bread and butter sounds all the way to wonderful soundscapes and more. I'm very proud to have been a part of this project. It was a lot of fun and I learned quite a bit along the way. I will eventually finish my bank for MS and I'm concentrating on the Vector Synthesis capabilities of the Wusik engine. When it's finished I'll send it to Manytone and I assume he'll make it available free to registered users.
Thanks again for the kind words and let me say excellent work to all the other sound designers of Manystation!
