Wanted to understand vocoding and get to grips with some of the new DH GUI stuff, so I made this.

It works just like the native vocoder in cubase SX - add as an insert effect on an audio channel and then set it up on its own MIDI track. The on-board synth works just like any other VST synth, including automation.

It can get a bit heavy on the cpu and I can't guarantee the complete accuracy of the filter bank frequency band values, but it is capable of some nice sounds, especially if you add a bit of chorus, phaser or whatever.

I have only tested it in SX.

it's much more than a vocoder...can do all types of sounds.

There's a lot of difference in output volume between presets, but thats no big problem...

I am a newcomer to website design, so it is cut n' paste job with a free template and a 'not quite sure what I'm doing' effort with Dreamweaver...does the job for the moment though.

I have chopped Voctopus up a bit and come up with Mini Voctopus. It has no on-board synth or filters, but it can accept any audio as the carrier.
