Which guitar plug-in can you recommend?

Hi,
I would like to buy a guitar plug-in. I've been looking at RealGuitar and I think the price is right. I've also been looking at Virtual Guitarist. But can I do better? I would like it to do strums and single notes. Both spanish and Steel.
Then I would also like to buy an electric version. Here I've also been looking at Virtual Guitarist El. Edition.
I'm wondering if Virtual Guitarist might be too pre-programmed for my use, but I haven't tried anything.
I'm using Logic 7 on a G5.
What can you recommend? Quality over price.

I think you've done some proper research already. Now its time for you to download and try the demo versions, so you get some hands-on experience of the capabilities. Thats the only way I'm afraid...
Or buy a piece of wood with 6 strings and learn how to play that ofcourse

I would rather go with good soundfonts and a sampler;
wizoo has good guitars, for instance.
Before getting Virtual Guitarist etc, do a search on the forum for the Ultimate Giutar Soundfont someone did here with his start. This and Simulanaloga gives gives you probably the best strat lead sounds you can get, free or otherwise.
Its limited, but good recorded and very playable.
Cheers, Richard

Spend $99 for Line6 GuitarPort, get a cheap Strat knock-off, and spend 6 years practicing everyday. The joy from that will be well worth it because you can't get any chicks from a plug in.

I have Real Guitar, and I have to say, that when it comes to acoustic guitars, it's truly amazing. I'm not saying that it doesn't have it's limitations. It does. But for a beginner guitar player like me, it gives me results that I can't get yet. However, it is sample based. You can alter the tone quite a bit, and all the little nuances that come with acoustic guitars. And there are some great patches included. And the strumming is wonderful. There are no alternatives that I'm aware of for RG.
Also, someone else mentioned Revitar 2. I have been playing with it for the last two days and I'm seriously impressed. I've been getting electric, acoustic, bass, and all kinds of sounds out of it. But it took a bit to get the hang of it. Someone pointed me in the right direction in another post. When it comes to guitar synths, this one seems to be king.
And for Manytone, I haven't tried anything, but the demos sound promising. I'm holding out on that one to see how much the different guitar sounds cost, then I'll decide.
I've been searching also for guitar sounds and stuff, so I'm watching here also. I hope you find what you want!

One more vote for the Ultimate Guitar Soundfont. Have u tried Plugsound Free? It also has a nice nylon and electric guitar and is free.

But the Ultimate Guitar Soundfont is just single notes, right? No strums? What I like about the RealGuitar is that it got alot of strums which sound really nice.
What about the other option you guys are talking about. Are they also all single notes? Marytone, Revitar, Wizoo etc.

I would check out the Project 6: Lyrical Distortion Guitars. It is on my short list. Check out the Northern Sounds forum for more info.
I guess I am one of few people who like VG Electric Edition. You can check out some pieces at www.soundclick.com/jeffreynaness
