Hey everyone!
I have an AMD Athlon 2400 computer with WinXP. I have an Audiotrak Maya44 card and a Tascam US-122 USB audio interface. I'm using Cubase SX2 and until not long ago, using asio4all allowed me to use the Maya's outputs and the Tascam's inputs. the Tascam's drivers are crap and using its outputs is almost impossible. everything went fine in that configuration until I had to re-install windows (damn virus...). after the installation,Cubase using asio4all would cause a crash on launch. I even installed a second clean XP on another partition for audio purposes only, and the problem persists. What am I missing? why was everything fine before I re-installed Windows? I'd apriciate any help...right now I'm grounded from making music and that sucks!
thanks...

R U using service packs? Same versions of Asio4All? try updating. Same version of cubase SX? sometimes the order in which you install things affects another thing. Usually I load OS, chipset drivers, service pack, and then hardware drivers, and then all my apps. Making an image of your OS with all dirvers installed and hardware working might help in the near future. I dont update drivers that much. THe kinda problem you're having thought me that "If its not broken, dont fix it". Hope that helps.

Everything in my new system is the same as in my old system,to the best of my knowledge. same version of Cubase, same version of asio4all (even though I've tried newer and older ones as well) and SP1 is included in the windows setup. and I always install things in the order you described...it just baffles me. everything appears to be the same as before but...nothing works right any more. :(
