If you're like me, you may be missing your music collection these days.
Since I have gotten into composing I'm spending less and less time listening.
This is not good. After all, listening is where one gets alot of compositional ideas.

That's odd. I used to go on "musical diets", where I would purposely avoid listening to any music for perhaps a couple weeks. I did this to drastically reduce unwanted influences creeping into my own compositions. It really seemed to help me find my own direction and style at the time.

I'm currently on an extended (forced) break from composition, and I'm getting awfully tired of listening to my music collection.

It's okay though. I just got the new Dave Holland Big Band CD in the mail today, so the CD collection should hold out at least another month. I just need to make it until summer when I get a killer new A64 system.

Oh please. You're going to try and tell me you don't get influenced by other peoples music? I'm afraid that borrowing ideas is a part of the creative process of learning my friend. Like it or not.

I've always wondered what I would do in the situation, and the answer is I said goodbye to everyone and left the house immediately.

It's the height of arrogance to suggest that you are not influenced by other peoples music.

Oh, and I edited my last statement. It's why there's an 'edit' option. No brainer.
