Musiclab's SlicyDrummer? It's currently an MFX so Cubase requires an MFX wrapper that Steinberg apparently has, I use it (edit: "it" being SlicyDrummer) in Sonar sometimes. I believe MusicLab are releasing a VST version soon.

OK, more seriously.
If used with DR-008 Slicy can work as VST from inside DR008.
I am not aware of any other Mfx that works like session drummer. Musiclab used to release a thing called "Looper" for free, but it was very unstable.

I know I'm dense, but...moloch wrote:Does anyone know if there exists a similiar program to cakewalks session drummer? ...and works in cubase?
are you moving from Cakewalk to Cubase, or did you just experience session drummer somewhere?

Yes, Ive moved from cakewalk to cubase. I recently bought Groove Monkey Rock (sequenced midi drums) wich worked perfectly with session drummer.
In cubase i have to preview each sample, until i find one i like, then import it to a miditrack.
...Pretty annoying since its so timeconsuming compared to session drummer.

Would the MFX of Sonar not work in Cubase?

I thought Cubase had a free downloadable adapter to use Cakewalk MFX things.moloch wrote:Yes, Ive moved from cakewalk to cubase. I recently bought Groove Monkey Rock (sequenced midi drums) wich worked perfectly with session drummer.
