Ultimate Bass Kit

Okay, so I've finished most all the sampling and now I'm putting together the soundfonts. Here's a little demo I made with the "bassics" soundfont:
http://herculeaneffort.adventuredevelop ... 20demo.mp3
I sampled everything with brand new strings (I played on them before-hand just enough so that they would stay in tune), so you get a tone to die for. The bass strings are Elixir Nanowebs, and they are some of the best (and most expensive) strings out there.
Here are the articulations:
-------
Bassics - Need a bass in your song but nothing fancy? This soundfont is only about 13 megs but features long, well-looped samples, release samples, harmonics, slides, fret noises (not in demo song), and a few other things.
Fingered Bass - If Bassics wasn't enough, this has a finer sound to it. It is plucked closer to the bridge, giving it a cleaner sound to it, like something you'd use for jazz, fusion, and bass solos. As well as all the extras that the Bassics features (resampled), it also sports two velocity layers.
Muted Bass - This is the kind of tone that was used in early rock music. The bass is muted at the bridge, giving it a deep, mellow tone. Includes slides and other stuff.
Muted Picked Bass - This bass has a really cool sound -- similar to the muted bass sound, but with a sharp click of the pick at the beginning.
Victor Wooten Slap Bass - In this bass kit I played the bass like Vic does, and sampled his double-thumb pop technique.
Marcus Miller Slap Bass - I really went all out in the groove funk department with this. I played heavier, and include stacatto samples. I also put in some left-hand slap samples in case you're going for a more Mark King type of sound.
Tapping - This was designed to accompany the Victor Wooten Slap Bass soundfont very well (as he does a lot of both and will mix both techniques together). I'm really happy with the tone I got in this one -- it's reminiscent of a Chapman Stick.
--------
So each of these will be a separate soundfont, but all bundled into one kit. Like the Ultimate Guitar Kit, the bass was sampled completely dry, and intended that you add your own effects and amp simulators.

Thanks Spe3D. To anyone who has this, I'd recommend trying the lead preset with simulanalog.
It sounds amazing through my digitech grunge as well (maybe someday I'll actually try using it like you're supposed to.
).

Personally I've been trying it through Cortex, which is simply amazing for a free effects VSTi. A lot of times I can get better distortion in it than in Amplitude, even.3*s wrote:Thanks Spe3D.
