For the old timers who remember a classic animated movie from 1970 called The Point, the majority of the 'original' album with music and narration by Harry Nillson will be played on Paul Richmonds 'Zest' show tommorrow at 8pm on CKRG 89.9FM, and listen online with Real Player/iTunes by going to www.radioglendon.com

I was embibing spiked Corn Flakes with Mr. Richmond and his lovely wife last night, and noticed this classic and no doubt rare original pressing of the soundtrack and story. To which it was immediately put onto CD for my personal copy. :hihi: I informed Paul that I bet many folks here at KVR would remember this cult classic film, and would appreciate hearing the soundtrack again. It certainly brought back memories for me. :D (Or maybe that was The Punch I was drinking? :drunk: )

So for fans of the movie The Point, remember to tune in CKRG on you web radio at 8pm Monday March 27. 8)

The following is copied from Mr. Richmonds mailer for your added interest....

"Tune into ZEST on Monday March 28/05 at 7:00 P.M. on CKRG 89.9 F.M. at
www.radioglendon.com and click on listen live. I will be playing, in it's
entirety and uninterrupted, the original Nilsson narrated version of the
album The Point. Eventhough I am utilizing modern technology in playing this
album on CD, I have actually recorded it fom the 33 1/3 vinyl album. I know
you will enjoy listening to this story as if you were playing it at home on
your own turntable with all the attributes of the warmpth of sound you just
don't get with CD's.

For those of you who may remember as kids, this is a wonderful story that is
timelees. Join Oblio and his dog Arrow as they discover that everything and
everyone has a point. Travel to the pointless forest and meet the pointed
man, the rockman, the three fat sisters and the leaf man. Learn the lesson
that Oblio finds out that if everyone and everything has a point, then he
must have one too, eventhough he was born without a point on his head.

I will also be playing some Canadian content to fill in the rest of the
show. You will hear, the music of Paul Knudsen, Joel Ali, Astrogroove and
Andrea and Shalva Makharashvili."

BTW - Paul Knudsen and all others are AWESOME! :hihi:

This was one of the first records I ever bought for my son when he was first born. I had seen the animation on TV and went out and bought the record. Use to sing (not very good mind you, nothing compared to Nillson's singing) "Me and My Arrow to him when he was a baby. Very recomended for an uplifting experience. "Me and My Arrow" will put a smile on my face everytime. :)

The Point! is an awesome album. I recommend it to anyone who likes good pop songs. If you are a fan of the Beach Boys, most notably their Friends period, this is right up your alley. I've had this album quite a while and it continues to amaze me each time I put it on.

Sorry Paul. Always keep thinking your show is on at 8pm for some reason?
SEVEN P.M. - Where's my drill to get that into my head? :bang:

Too much spiked corn flakes? :drunk:

(Sorry, had to miss the show for an old friend in town's visit. But I knew a few here would be interested. ;) )
