F1 conundrum in Cubase (DS-404)

I got the ds-404 yesterday and on first impressions it looks very functional. Tonight I've been trying to make a multi-sample patch out of my humble metallophone but I'm running into a silly yet annoying problem. The F1 key which opens the sample list in DS is already assigned in my Cubase VST/32. It's the keyboard shorcut to opening the Help Menu. I tried de-activating this in Cubase via Edit/Preferences/Key Commands but failed! Any ideas?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding here, but the "F1" on the DS404 isn't a "keyboard shortcut", but refers to the first of the four "function keys" on the GUI of the DS404 itself. When you want to call up the sample list, you click on the "1" function key on the DS404.
